Levitating people and things or making cars and buildings dissappear.

Who isn't a sucker for a nice bouquet of flowers appearing from nowhere? :-)

By Blogger shimmala, at 9/03/2007 7:55 PM

I like the simplicity of just having things appear out of nowhere - especially for kids. The hat that has the scarves just apperaing is cool and my little guy would love it!

I have two budding magicians in my house. They love putting on magic shows. My favorite tricks are when they make things disappear or they appear to read my mind;)

Neat contest!

Sorry, I forgot to include the link where I posted on my blog.

The mind reading tricks are always killer.

With my son Daniel just turning One in October, this would make the birthday party, one of my other three boys could perform a magic act, I wonder if they could perform my favorite trick make a rabbit come out of a hat! I really do hope I win this :.)

That is so cute! Magic is always fun. I'm sure my kids would like it to step up a notch in the magic trick department. My tricks are old.

I'm still a sucker for people who vanish from boxes "into thin air" and scratch my head wondering how they do it.

Thanks for the great contest.

My favorite magic trick is when they cut the person in half and separate the boxes...how do they do that?

By Blogger Sassyfrazz, at 9/05/2007 9:39 AM

I am just a bit on the cheesy side. I love all the simple classic magic tricks like the coin behind the ear, rabbit from the hat and the card tricks.

There is something so simple, sweet, and nostalgic about a bunny rabbit being plucked from a hat. To look at children's faces when this is performed is simply magical.

thisislindsayrae@gmail.com

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9/09/2007 6:20 AM

Yeah, the sawing-people-in-half thing still gets me. How DO they do it??

jg at jennaglatzer.com

By Blogger Jenna, at 9/11/2007 12:22 AM

My favorite magic trick? Hands-down, it's any close-up, sleight-of-hand--especially when cards or coins are involved.

Big stage illusions may be dramatic, but they aren't difficult to achieve if you have the right (expensive) equipment.

Close-up magic, on the other hand, is all about skill.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9/11/2007 12:05 PM

My 4 year old daughter would love this. I am always a sucker for biting a quarter and then spitting it back to make it whole again trick.

By Blogger Lorin and Heather, at 9/12/2007 5:19 PM

My favorite is when they cut items in pieces and then they are whole again.

Oh! The Pop Up Magic Top Hat is the perfect thing for a silly 4yo. And the fact that it folds flat is perfect for the storage-challenged mama.

By Blogger VenturaMom from, at 9/13/2007 9:40 AM

cool stuff!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9/13/2007 1:07 PM

When I was little, my grandfather worked at Brown's Hotel in the Catskills. I always loved Magic Week--and any trick involving animals (as long as they are well taken care of)!

Captain Dad does little coin and card tricks and would love this set for him and Baby Diva.

I linked up to your contest here.

I think my favorite trick was the one I saw a few months ago. I sat down on a crowded commuter train, on my way home, and groaned. The guy next to me pulled out his wallet and it burst into flames! It turned out that he was a magician, heading home from a gig. He entertained me all the way home.

By Blogger Magpie, at 9/14/2007 10:56 AM

My kids love the card tricks!

By Blogger Kim, at 9/15/2007 7:11 AM

My favorite is My First Magic Hat because I won one of those (could it be the very same one?!) when I was in fifth grade. I still remember my disbelief when they came into my classroom and said my name. What glee!!!!

Yup, that's my fave.
