Baking soda and vineagar

I love method products. My favorite is the lavender stuff. I just got turned onto borax laundry detergent and man does it get stains out of baby clothes like no other!

By Blogger Angela, at 10/25/2007 1:34 PM

Vinegar and baking soda gets the cleaning job done for me. ~lol~

I love the foaming soap. And the bag of refill soap (which I dilute so it'll foam). It's the only thing that gets me through the newborn-washing-hands-every-five-minutes stage!

i <3 method! it's hard to track down in alaska though :(

my favorite method product is their countertop spray. smells so much better than 409 or windex!

my best cleaning tip- if you have a baked-on nasty pan or casserole dish, fill it with water, put a dryer sheet in it, and let it soak overnight!

I use Method products everyday so I was thrilled to see that as a giveaway! I especially love their laundry detergent and fabric softener. It smells sooo good!

Great cleaning tip: when vacuuming, I always have a rubber dish glove on top of the vacuum to use along the baseboards. It takes all the dog hair up without me having to move furniture to vacuum. (I don't move my furniture all time just to vacuum.)

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/25/2007 6:01 PM

My favorite is the countertop spray.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/26/2007 4:17 AM

My favorite is the soy candle and the detox kit.

By Blogger CrystalGB, at 10/26/2007 5:56 AM

I love Method stuff - I switched all my cleaning products to theirs. I read an article where they said that we have to re-evaluate what "clean smell" is: it doesn't have to be bleachy smell, but that's what we're used to. I totally agree! So I started using their lavender cleaning spray and wipes, and I'm getting used to a "clean smell" being lavender, not bleach!

The best cleaning tip I ever got was that dryer sheets keep away moths AND get rid of cat hair...they break the static somehow.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/26/2007 6:02 AM

I love the all purpose spray in cucumber. I love method products and use them all over my home!

By Blogger Tuesday Girl, at 10/26/2007 6:10 AM

Believe it or not this is the first time I have heard of these products and after reviewing their website I would say the spray - french lavender would be my favourite product. My cleaning tip would be to disinfect objects Lysol disinfectant wipes are great. It helps kill germs, and it smells great also.

I LOVE the pink grapefruit scent wipes - espcially in the kitchen. They ease my conscience knowing they are biodegradable!
Great giveaway.

I love the pink grapefruit handsoap.

By Blogger Kara, at 10/26/2007 6:30 AM

I love method products! My fave has to be the mint window wash...Minty?! How cool is that? My cleaning tip...I use newspaper for washing mirrors and windows because it doesn't leave streaks.

The party prep kits look awesome, like they would make cleaning fun!
The peppermint vanilla scent would probably be my favourite. Invigorating and mouth watering mmmm!

For a cleaning tip, not many know the usefulness of WD-40.... if you have children you should know all about it, like for example it gets out crayon and other hard to clean messes from kids!!

I'm a big fan of Method cleaning products! I love the dish soap, aroma rings, cleaning wipes, the baby laundry detergent... This list really could go on and on.

My tip: I use the discretely beautiful aroma rings near the diaper pails in the house. They work wonders at getting rid of unpleasant smells without having an overpowering scent. I especially love the seasonal selections! Summer was "Green Grass" now Autumn is "Cinnamon Bark".

Thanks!

I bought my first Method product a few weeks ago and love it. It is the Tub and Tile cleaner. It does a wonderful job in the shower and there is no harsh smell or feel on your hands.

tip: Pick one room a day and clean just that room. Next day do another room.

By Blogger lace, at 10/26/2007 7:17 AM

Can I be honest? I want to win this more than I wanted the pink Dyson!

I LOVE method products! Their ylang ylang daily shower is a much around here. You really save on time and elbow grease if you give your shower a "shower" of that as soon as you step out of it each day. And the scent is heavenly.

And speaking of heaven-scent, the other must-have around here is the lavender all-purpose cleaner. Cleaning the tile in my kitchen has never been so much fun!

I like their foaming hand soap. My son is potty training so my best cleaning trick right now is to entice him to wash his hands and foamy soap is a big hit with him.

By Blogger Zana, at 10/26/2007 7:23 AM

I love method and so many of their products, but my favorite of all is the cucumber all purpose spray. Although, I have never tried their ylang ylang daily shower and that sounds fabulous.

I love the flushable cleaning wipes. They make cleaning around the toilet so easy.

By Blogger divrchk, at 10/26/2007 7:42 AM

I have never heard of, or used, Method cleaning products. I think they look like a fantastic product line, though! I would love to have the kit:
detox kit - detox your home
Everything you need to give dirty the boot and evict toxic cleaning chemicals from your home:
*all purpose cleaner: french lavender
*tub + tile spray
*wood for good furniture polish
*microfiber cloth: wood for good
*hand wash: sea minerals
*25 oz omop all floor cleaner: lemon ginger
25 oz dish soap: pink grapefruit

Great contest! I would love to try the products~

By Blogger Sassyfrazz, at 10/26/2007 7:57 AM

I've never tried Method products, but I'd love to. Best cleaning tip? We use Simple Green as a stain remover. Maybe Method is as good?

By Blogger Brooke, at 10/26/2007 8:05 AM

I'm a big fan of the hand soaps. I'd love to try some of the other products.
sbhatz@gmail.com

our older tod has very sensitive skin … so, we use ‘method’ foaming hand wash in all our bathrooms … the foam is fun to use for both tods but also reduces the amount of soap used for one hand wash. the funny thing is:: we chose the kind of turquoise colored ‘eucalyptus mint’ because its color matches the color of the accent mosaic glass tile and the wall color we used for our bathroom renovation …

cleaning tip:: … we use ‘method’ premium surfaces leather wipes for our white leather natuzzi sofa … works wonders and let’s the white sofa stay white even if two tods ‘misuse’ it once in a while as a playground … with the use of non-toxic, (bio)degradable agents and wipes we can still have a stylish living room and happy, non-toxic tods, while being in line with mother nature … ;-)

I like all the products! The one we use the most is the surface cleaner. On heavy stains on the counter I just let it sit for a couple of min and it all comes off with one wipe. Its great.
Tip: Sorry not about method but if you have ever stepped in gum and got it on your floor mats in your car the best thing to use is goof off just becarefull how much you use cause it stinks! but works like a charm.

As a rehabilitated Swiffer-mop user, I'm a huge fan of Method's Omop. I love the washable microfiber pad for cleaning floors, and the Omop's design is very ergonomic.

I love all the things purple, plus biodegradable wipes.

Cleaning tip - coarse salt as a scrub for cast iron. Works really well!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/26/2007 12:25 PM

I love the foaming hand soap and the candles...I'd love to incorporate more Method products into my life, since now I have 2 little ones. It just feels more healthy to use Method rather than other crazy products.

By Blogger CanCan, at 10/26/2007 12:25 PM

I love the hand soap. I know this is silly but not only do I like the products for their earthly goodness but the packaging rocks.

My household tip: vinegar for an air freshener and to clean the coffee pot.

By Blogger superfizz, at 10/26/2007 12:28 PM

I like to use products for cleaning that are safe for the human and for teh enviromant and non toxic. My cleaning tip: try reuseing while cleaning. Old t-shirts and clothes can make nice cleaning cloths, then you through it out, and (news)paper works when cleaning windows with the glass spray! Lets keep our home.

Best cleaning tip: Don't freak out about the process. Embrace it as a natural part of living ;0)

I'm such a method junkie! Having a kid has turned me into an insta-germaphobe, but cleaning product residue where little hands touch also made me paranoid- so method's products have made me a tad more on the sane side (just a tad). Being green is another huge seller in our house.

I love, love, LOVE their foaming handwash and so does my 20 mos old daughter. I'm also a huge fan of the daily shower cleaner (who has time to do a full scrub down every week??) and their laundry detergent works miracles on all those "uh oh mama" moments. As for tips; right after any stains appear, I spot treat with a little of the laundry detergent before laundering and it has never failed to get the stain out!

I'm off to the website to get me a couple free bags! Thanks again miss *mod*mom* ^-^

I heart Method too! Their green tea+aloe hand wash is the reason my hands are always clean - I love that smell. And it's not "girly" enough and so the men in my house love it too :)

As for cleaning tip - I put one of those linen drawer scented sachets in my vaccum cleaner bag and lo behold - scented carpets as I vaccum :)

By Blogger Rashmi, at 10/26/2007 3:18 PM

I am a bag lady. Er, bag lover. Wahoo! I just went out and purchased Method products for the first time. I got - microfiber cloths, dryer cloths, air freshener spray, and hand soap. Can't wait to try them out! Thanks for the giveaway!

By Blogger jenna, at 10/26/2007 3:31 PM

I love a lot of the method products. I use their unscented laundry detergent and cucumber all-purpose cleaner all the time.

Here's my best cleaning tip. It's simple, but it took me a long time to discover. The easiest time to scrub the shower walls is...while taking a shower! It's about a million times easier to clean them when they're all wet and steamy. And if you take just a minute each day to do it, it's never a big job. Yay!

Oh, and I hope I win!! :) treehousejukebox (AT) gmail (DOT) com

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/26/2007 3:41 PM

oh, how i love Method. My favorite products are the grapefruit dish soap, the bar soap and the spray bathroom cleaner. I like to take a shower, then spray down the walls and tub so it can soak in a little while I dry off and dress, and then wipe it clean after.

By Blogger Melissa, at 10/26/2007 7:26 PM

This is a great giveaway! I love their glass cleaner. The smell is much friendlier than typical glass cleaners and does a great job.

I love to use microfiber cloths and baking soda for most of my cleaning. They do a super-fab job without all the harsh chemicals.

By Blogger heather h, at 10/26/2007 8:12 PM

The all-purpose cleaning wipes are a must-have in our home... I use them for everything!!
Tip: Just remember that you can't get all the cleaning done in one day - Clean as you go and spread it out!

By Blogger Christine, at 10/26/2007 8:16 PM

I really like the method drying sheets - they smell so good!

Tip: Eliminate odors in wastebaskets: Place a sheet of Method at the bottom of the wastebasket.

I've never tried their products before. I'd love to try them out! Anything lavendar or vanilla would be right up my alley.

As for a cleaning tip...I always try to clean my shower while I'm showering. One wall one day...another wall the next, etc. That way it's broken down into easy, small tasks rather than one large one.

By Blogger BlondeBlogger, at 10/27/2007 10:23 AM

I just bought the omop for my bathroom because I need products of convenience to be encouraged to clean in that room. The mop is right there and ready to go whenever I need it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/27/2007 10:33 AM

I love the wood polish spray. It smells like almonds/cherry and makes my coffee table shine. And I love the new cinnamon bark handsoap - I just bought some today!

My cleaning tip - put a terry cloth diaper on the newly crawling baby and let him loose on the hardwoods. Better than roomba.

I love Method! I have tried a bunch of their products and have not been disappointed! I love their Lavendar scent and the Euclyptus & Mint as well. And their handsoap is fabulous too! I could go on forever.....

I use a lot of baking soda and vinegar to clean!

By Blogger SJINCO, at 10/28/2007 9:36 AM

I really want to try the compostable sweeping cloths and the microfiber pads

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/28/2007 9:47 AM

I love the foaming hand soap, not only is the bottle attractive but it leaves your skin feeling soft. My cleaning tip is using water and vinegar to clean my hardwood floors.

By Blogger Red Lotus Mama, at 10/28/2007 4:03 PM

Oh I love their aroma beads!! But I also love their dish soap! It's all good!!

The best thing I've found to clean windows and glass is newspaper!! We've all got that around right?

When it comes to cleaning I can use all the help I can get!

By Blogger Cori, at 10/29/2007 7:48 AM

My cleaning tip? Using newspaper to clean glass/mirrors.

By Blogger Jen, at 10/29/2007 11:09 AM

i love the method dish soap designed by karim rashid. it is so curvy and sexy!

my green household cleaning tip is to use baking soda to clean tile grout. make a paste by mixing the baking soda with some lemon juice and water. apply to tile grout and scrub with a scrub brush or old toothbrush. sure beats using bleach!

since i became pregnant and had my baby boy, i only use method products in my home.

i hope i win. thanks, vanessa cain

MM I have been using method for years.

I totally dig that they are against animal cruelty. I love the smell of the their blue concentrated liquid laundry detergent. I love the shower cleaner... I use it on my english acrylic bathtub and it stay super shiney and clean, like new! The bath wipes are awesome for cleaning up shiny bathroom tiles. And the leather wipes, don't even get me started. Oh and the shower gel. And the spiced pear dish soap and the ginger spice candles...

ive never used their products, but the laundry soap sounds nice.

my favorite is the stainless cleaner - great for getting tiny fingerprints off the refrigerator. Hmm, my tip? I use the old water/lemon combo in the microwave to loosen the gunk before wiping it down.

By Blogger HilaryS, at 10/29/2007 7:25 PM

The method dishwash soap is by far my favorite (what a splendid design!). My secret cleanign method: Heinz white distilled vinegar. Cheap, effective and non toxic!

By Blogger Unknown, at 10/29/2007 8:31 PM

Let's see... I use Method's hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and the Method mop with their wood cleaner and all purpose floor cleaner. (Yeah, I'm a loyal customer)

Cleaning tip? Just keep up with it so you don't fall behind - then it's such a pain!

i have tro admit i loved the rosemary mint floor cleaner. i have a little bit that i'm rationing! i fill the sink with water, add a bit of that and clean bathroom surfaces, baseboards, windows, etc. i am allergic to ginger so the omop might not work for me. i know i don't have to eat it, but those of us with allergies know the deal! i see some things online that i haven't seen at target, so i'll order some!

I have always been a baking soda and vinegar cleaner. I love the method products as I can use the products and feel good about the environment and our health. Favs are the tub & tile spray and dish soup.

My favorite Method product right now is the wonderful almond smelling would floor cleaner. I could just eat it up!

Cleaning tip: Plain old hand soap is great for getting spills off a carpet. has to be used right away though!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/30/2007 7:35 AM

I love the cucumber hand soap! For the shower and bath, I also use a mixture of water, vinegar, baking soda and a little bit of the cucumber hand soap. It cuts soap scum better than any bleach-based tile cleaner out there!
Thanks!

Love method products - can't leave Target without one in my basket.....

Love the omop, its an earth-friendly classy little step up from the swiffer.

By Blogger Tori, at 10/30/2007 10:15 AM

I love the product packaging for Method. All their cleaners look so much fun, it actually makes me want to use them! My favorite is their grapefruit hand soap! Yummy!

By Blogger Brit, at 10/30/2007 11:12 AM

I love their handsoaps, mainly sweet water. I have been dying to try their good for wood spray, it sounds fabulous.

My cleaning tip - don't worry about separating laundry by colors if all items have been washed before and don't bleed. I just do one big load of colors, whites, whatever, and that saves me time, and water.

We regularly use their hand soaps and dish soap, but love all of their products!

By Blogger Kristin, at 11/02/2007 7:34 AM

I've used Method since it first came out.

My tip is to to use these products on anything your child might be putting into his mouth that you wouldn't expect...for instance, my little one is always "biting" the side of the tub!! And his highchair tray! I'm really glad I don't use any harsch cleaners on those things!

My favorite products are the bloq body bar, lotion, and wash.

Best cleaning tip: I just like to clean a little everyday so that it doesn't get crazy! I don't like to spend all day cleaning so I find that if I just do a little everyday it is more manageable.

I LOVE method. I have the air enhancer for the bathroom and it works SO much better than anything else we have had. Also, the counter top cleaner is just as good.

We use Method for our hand sanitizer. The holiday gift looks fantastic (includes a candle, aroma beads and more). While the looks don't help the functionality of the products, they sure make your house look beautiful.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11/04/2007 4:50 PM

I love Method! It makes me feel so much better to use non-toxin cleaners--especially with two small kiddos. On top of that, they smell amazing! My favorite products are Cucumber Melon all-purpose spray and the stainless steel cleaner. Hooray for Method!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11/05/2007 6:05 AM

Method is fantastic! I use it and give it as housewarming gifts and hostess gifts all the time. I am particularly fond of the furniture polish with the almond scent. It smells terrific and does a great job. My cleaning tip... I am a stasher.. I stash the cleaning wipes and other supplies all over the house... if I can reach it, I am much more quick to clean up a room while I am in it rather than having a long list of chores all over the house.

I love the mint window cleaner and lavender surface cleaner. They are so much lighter than other cleaners and yet still have an appealing scent - not toxic! Cleaning tips? I'm not the best person to ask about that! :) I guess, getting my kids to help out. The older two are 5 and 3 and enjoy dusting and wiping windows. I feel comfortable sending them with a bottle of Method and a rag to go off and bust the dust. :)

The green apple dish soap is my favorite! I love the design of the bottle and the sassy green color. My tip is that with Method products I feel great about letting my 3 yr old "Help" clean up. The surface wipes are safe for her to use and help me out!

By Blogger Laura M.- Editor, at 11/05/2007 9:14 AM

I love their whole line and use it all. I think it smells great and the kids love it too.

I swear by the Mr Clean Magic Eraser (as my favorite cleaning tip besides Method of course)

By Blogger q, at 11/05/2007 11:44 AM

this is the first time I've heard of Method. I'll have to look into them. =) I found reusable shopping bags at Walmart for $1 so I'm using those now when I shop! =)

My obsession with Method products is a recent one. I love them all!

I have found the spray countertop cleaner to be mild enough to clean my wooden tabletop in the kitchen

They just came out with some holiday scents which I am loving... cinammon bark, peppermint vanilla, & holly berry...in beautiful bottles!

I have never used any of the Method products but have heard good things about them...And with a child in the house, I'm always looking for safe products to use. My cleaning tip would be to keep a roll of paper towels and some cleaning spray in each bathroom, that way it's easy access and a quick cleanup! Thanks for the chance to win!

I like the wood spray. It makes my living room smell like marzipan. :)

A tip: I finally learned to clean tile so that it doesn't get a yucky residue. I just use two towels. One to clean the tile, and then a quick wipe with the other towel to pick up any residue. Now everything is shinier.

I first started using Method's hand soap almost three years ago. But my favorite product are the microfiber cloths, I absolutely hate using papertowels. I also love being able to buy refills, with less packaging waste.

Best cleaning tip - weekly treatment of baking soda and vinegar down the drains to keep them clean w/o chemicals! Also, don't sweat stains on kids clothes as long as it's clean, who cares about stains.

I LOVED the lavender floor cleaner they aren't making anymore (sob!) and we always have the handsoap next to every sink. My cleaning tip is that I clean the bathroom while my kids (big enough to play) are in the tub soaking and playing. I don't leave them alone, and I get the toilet, sink and floor done!

I love the creamy hand wash.

My best cleaning tip, as far as personal hygiene is concerned, is to use a natural bath sponge with a little soap on it. Much less harsh than a regular wash cloth, and the soap goes much further.

I'm just discovering all the method products so my favorites at this point are the hand soaps b/c of their delicious clean scents. Check with me in a month and I'm sure I'll have more. My cleaning tip is citrus from a lemon. I use it to remove tough stains - but don't leave it on too long.
